Beverley and Holderness Forum – Registration Agreement
Welcome to the Beverley and Holderness Online Forum. Membership is free and it takes seconds to register and begin posting. We hope you will enjoy reading and contributing to the Forum.
As with many Forums we have drafted an agreement which you need to sign up to in order to receive your Forum password. Please read it carefully and make sure you are comfortable with it before proceeding. The agreement is based on the site's editorial guidelines, which set out what is acceptable on the site.
Forum Agreement
1. You agree not to post any material which is false, inaccurate, defamatory, slanderous, libellous, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, profane, obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, invasive of a person’s privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law.
2. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.
3. Multiple postings of the same message, spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, personal business dealings and commercial promotions are not allowed on the forum.
4. Members are entitled to express their political and religious points of view in the forum, but pushing and promoting a religious or political doctrine is not allowed. However the Forum owner, or his explicitly nominated representatives, may post items from a political perspective from time to time.
5. By posting on these Forums, you are granting us perpetual permanent free license for us to use your postings in public areas of this site at our discretion and you agree that the editorial team have the right to remove, edit, move or close any post or topic at any time, should they see fit.
6. You agree not use multiple usernames in one discussion and not to answer your own posts using another username. IP tracking and other technologies may be used to monitor abuse of the Forum.
7. This is not the place for the airing of personal vendettas with neighbours, the naming of neighbours you may have an on-going disagreement with or the identification of those neighbours by inference. Legal actions can be taken against you by anyone named or referred to in this way.
8. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this Forum, and any related websites to this forum. The Beverley and Holderness Forum also reserves the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any information posted by you.
9. You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. Vulgar and insulting nicknames will be removed, as will nicknames attempting to impersonate other users.
10. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another member, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another member's account to post messages or browse this forum.
11. After you register and log into the Beverley and Holderness Online Forum, you can fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed.
12. The Forum's internal messaging system also comes under the terms of this agreement.
13. Submissions regarding the administration or moderation of forum posts or comments are not permitted and will be removed. If you have an issue or question regarding our administrative policies or actions, please e-mail edtownend@googlemail.com
14. The forum will not tolerate spamming, trolling, and flaming. All three are explained below.
Spamming is repeatedly posting the same link, or message on multiple boards, or trying to get people to go to another site to buy something.
Trolling is going onto a board for the sole purpose of starting trouble or instigating an argument.
Flaming is going onto a board and insulting people because of their beliefs, sexual preference, gender, ethnicity or any number of things.
Note that it is impossible for the Beverley and Holderness Online Forum to confirm the validity of posts on this forum. Please remember that the messages are not monitored before they are posted and the Beverley and Holderness Online Forum is not responsible for the content of the messages.
The site does not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of the Beverley and Holderness Online Forum. In addition this site may contain links to other web sites and files. We have no control over the content and cannot ensure it will not be offensive or objectionable. We will, however, remove links to material that we feel is inappropriate as we become aware of them.
Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify the administrator of this forum immediately. This should be done by clicking the report to moderator link by each post (do not use email to raise your objection). The Beverley and Holderness Online Forum has the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if it is thought that removal is necessary. This is a manual process however, so please realise that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well. To notify the administrator of a post or personal message that you are concerned about, simply click the ‘Report To Moderator’ link which appears with every post.
Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this Beverley and Holderness Online Forum or your ISP contacted. This will happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
At times we might notify the forum membership about updated information about the site. If you don't want to receive these updates, please let us know and we will make sure you are not included in the update.
The site's editorial team reserves the right to amend this forum agreement and will always post to the forum when doing so to ensure that all existing forum members are aware of any changes.
Finally, your personal details, which are stored in this forum, will not be shared with any other party and will only be used to contact you about any site or forum changes and updates, or any alterations to this agreement. However you should note that the forum is owned and operated by Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart and his support staff and that by registering with this forum you agree to receive updates on campaigns being run by Graham Stuart. You can of course unsubscribe at any stage by following the simple instructions at the foot of any news update email.
Thank you for agreeing to these terms and joining the Beverley and Holderness Online Forum.
